That’s right, ladies – makeup is no longer solely for us women. Men are getting in on the action now too! If you go down to your local cosmetics store, you’re sure to see shelves devoted to men’s makeup. And we’re not just talking about a bit of foundation – there’s Manscara, Guyliner, lipsticks and a whole magnitude of hair products that would put my own collection to shame! So what do we think?

Hell Yes!

If it’s empowering for us girls to wear power suits and football shirts, why can’t men dabble in cosmetics? In this day and age, how we look and appear to others is very important to most of us. Already most men have as varied and picky a wardrobe as most women. Cosmetics are there to help us look our best, whatever our gender, and can bring confidence as well as boost our self-esteem

So what kind of products are available for the men out there who want to experiment?

Calvin Klein Guyliner:

That’s right – eyeliner for men. For you gentlemen who want a sharp-eyed, defined look, framing the eyes with a bit of eyeliner can create a sophisticated, flawless look. Eyeliner is a great way to open up your eyes and set you apart from the competition! Applying a subtle layer to the bottom of the eye can really enhance the colour and give them a captivating depth. And don’t worry guys – Calvin Klein’s Guyliner is designed especially to be easy to apply for you first-timers!

L’Oreal Men Explosive Manscara:

Mascara – there’s a reason us women wear it and now you men can make your eyes look sultry and defined too! Manscara is great for those of you out there who want to bring more attention to your eyes and L’Oreal’s new marble brush is designed specifically to capture all of those tiny lashes to give a fuller, darker look. Top tip – wipe the Manscara brush against the side of the pot before applying to avoid any sticky clumps!

MMUK MAN’s Bronzer For Men:

For those of you who aren’t quite ready to whip out the more daring stuff yet, bronzer is a great way to give your skin a natural-looking glow. For the busy working man who doesn’t get to spend much time in the sun, this is the perfect thing to combat against those pasty cheeks!  There are also five shades so you can find the one that looks the most natural on you. Don’t know where to start? Get a fine makeup application brush and start along the forehead, travelling down the nose towards the cheeks. Applying a light layer can really achieve the natural look for those of you who aren’t used to dusting and blending on a daily basis.

STILA Expert Tinted Moisturiser For Men:

This moisturiser is great for those men out there who want to cover up any blemishes or imperfections and achieve a naturally glowing look. With components that nourish and protect your skin, this moisturiser is designed to blend subtly with your skin tone without while keeping it light and easy and is extremely simple to apply!

With all the choice out there for men these days, there’s no excuse not to give it a try! Imagine the reaction when you whip off a pair of Oakley Sunglasses and dazzle all around you with smouldering eyes.

Hi, Chelsea. Yes, there does seem to be a shortage advice for men who would like to wear some makeup. Hopefully we can help to inform men about all the wonderful choices and options regarding makeup. =)

I don’t know if I would wear makeup, I personally don’t have any friends that do. If everyone did I’m sure I would. Where would you draw the line on what is too much makeup on a guy?

Hello! Great question! I think some of the purposes to wearing make-up is to allow the person, whether they be male or female, to feel confident and express their unique style. As with anyone wearing makeup (or lack of makeup) or them amount of makeup they wear, I think that is that person’s personal choice and their shouldn’t be any harsh judgments either way. =)

Hahha funny. If women can wear face powder, what not guys too? Go head and feel free to wear face powder if you so desire.
